Our clothing drive held March 28th through May 7th, 2022. The goal was to tackle the problem of fast fashion, which is the overconsumption of fabric materials to make cheap clothes that are bought frequently by consumers. Not only does it promote the exploitation of cheap labor, it also hurts our planet. So, our solution to mitigate these effects was to host a clothing drive that encouraged the reuse of clothing by donating them to those in need in our community. Our members posted flyers in their neighborhoods and collected clothing from their neighbors to donate to Note In the Pocket, a local non-profit organization working to provide clothing from the homeless. Together, we collected a total of fifteen large cardboard boxes of clothing!
